 During Land of Linclon, Pete and Connie Bradish gave a group of Beavers an introduction to one of the most historical parts of the country. The rally combined great meals at places like the Chesapeake Restaurant and Two Olive Cantina with interesting tours, including the Governor's Mansion and, of course, the Lincoln Museum. One of the most unusual activities, however, was an unexpected mystery tour. It started with a visit to the Funeral Home Customs Museum and then proceeded to the Oak Ridge Cemetery, for a hunt to find points of interest such as the burial places of Abraham Lincoln as well as Bradish family ancestors.

 Tim and Betsy Westman did a fantastic job giving visitors to the midwest a tour of the highlights of the area. Following the Lima Lead-in Rally, they started out with a rolling rally, "From Museums to Islands", that led participants to four additional rallies. Tim and Betsy conducted two of these - "Indiana Amish Country" in Elkhart, Indiana and "Sunrise, Sunset and Sundaes," which explored the beautiful Door County Peninsula of Wisconsin.  Another rally on the post-Lima Lead-in schedule was the Motor City Rally hosted by Tom and Nancy Sherman. A visit to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, the world's largest history museum, was the highlight of this wonderful rally. Stories of not only Ford, but Edison, the Wright brothers, Webster and George Washington Carver were brought to life. But there were also many other things to see and do in the area. Dinner at the Dearborn Inn in the old Henry Ford Hotel, was a culinary delight. Participants also toured the Ford Rouge Plant and even took a ride in an old horseless carriage Model T.

 Not only was this the first rally hosted by Rally Masters Mike and Mary Engen, but it was also their FIRST BAC RALLY! Congratulations to these two eager Beavers, for jumping right in and putting on a great rally. Participants enjoyed the beauty of the Chequamegon Bay area on the south shore of Lake Superior, including, as a highlight, a boat cruise to view the lighthouses of the Apostle Islands. In addition there was time for shopping, visiting museums, art galleries, antiquing and walking trails around the coastal communities of Washburn and Bayfield.Wisconsin.

 What a great rally! Gary and Pat Gerber planned a wonderful variety of activities to keep everyone busy for 6 days and 5 nights. Centered around the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Week, activities included a rib burn-off, parade, concert, fireworks and tickets to the Hall of Fame. Not to be left out, the women were treated to hair, make-up and skin care demonstrations by Scott/Talbot Salon and Spa. If that wasn't enough, there were lawn games, a miniature golf tournament and even an old fashioned outdoor movie. Add to all of this some great food and fun shopping at the famous Amish Hartville Flea Market and Restaurant (and optional tours of local businesses) and you have a fantastic rally.  What better way to spend the Forth of July than with Beaver friends in the heartland of America! First time rally masters, Howard and Bonnie Klaver planned a great time in Amana, Iowa. The Amana Heritage site and a show at the Old Creamery Theater brought history alive. Add to that great food, including a dinner at the famous Ox Yoke Inn and some delicious Amana Pastries, and you have the makings of a great time. Check out some pictures.

 Why break up the fun and camaraderie, when there are so many rallies to go to? Bill and Karen decided to keep things rolling, literally, by guiding a group of Beavers (some of whom had already spent a month traveling together) on to the next series of Region 3 rallies. The trip started with a visit to the tourist mecca of Knapp, Wisconsin, hometown of our fearless leader, Lamar Keck. Some of the wonderful citizens of Knapp, who knew Lamar when he was growing up, visited the rally and made the Beavers feel very welcome. Trash can Turkeys, prepared by the Fadales, was another highlight. What a great way to travel.

| A Great Island Tour |

This rally was a great opportunity to travel back in time. A ferry ride to Mackinac takes you to an island which does not allow automobiles. The main methods of transportation are walking or riding in the ubiquitous horse drawn carriages. And if you don't buy any fudge, it's not for lack of opportunity. The beautiful old Grand Hotel offers tours highlighting an interesting past.

First time rally masters, Dave and Jane Bazan, did a great job planning an enjoyable and relaxing rally at Traverse City near Lake Michigan. Of couse, you can't be that close to the lake without having a good old fashioned Great Lakes Fish Boil. Side trips to historic harbor towns and Grand Traverse Lighthouses added to the fun.
