| Beavers of the Night Sky 2010 |
Chiefland, Florida Astronomy Village |
| Rally Masters: Tom and Lynn Crowley |
March 2 - 5, 2010 |
The 3rd Beavers of the Night Sky Rally provided exceptional skies for observing. One of the more interesting objects viewed was the Great Nebula in Orion, as well as Mars, and the Moon. The telescopes available for viewing ranged from a 10'' with excellent optics to a 24” to see more detail. Highlights this year included seeing the International Space Station pass overhead and then, 5 minutes later, viewing the ascent of a Delta Rocket launched by the Air Force from Kennedy Space Center. The days were filled with astronomy presentations including a Journey Through the Universe; observing sun spots and flares through sun scopes; and of course socials. A lunch at the Island Room Restaurant, right on the gulf, was also a treat. And again the Crowleys opened their home for some great dinners, breakfasts, and potlucks. The Beavers were sent off the last day for there next adventure with a Celestial Pancake breakfast. Check out some pictures of the rally.

Margaritaville |
Orlando, Florida |
| Rally Masters: Chen and Margie Vincente |
November 9 - 12, 2009 |
Chen and Margie Vincente hosted a group of Beavers right in the backyard of their new home in Sanford. Relaxing in the Florida sun, enjoying great food, drink and Beaver comaraderie was just the start of the fun. A pontoon boat ride down the river was a great way to relax and watch for birds and wilkdlife. And if that wasn't enough, there was always games and fishing. To top off the activities, there was a whole pig roasted on a spit. All in all, this was a great, laid back rally. Check out pictures of some of the fun. |
Mystery Rolling Rally III |
Central Florida |
| Rally Masters: Pete and Connie Bradish |
December 3 - 9, 2009 |
A group of 15 coaches met in the parking lot of the Altamonte Springs Mall in Altamonte Springs, Florida without the slightest idea of where they were going. After the first of several outstanding meals, they attended ICE at the Gaylord Palms complex. After enjoying the frozen fun, the next day was spent traveling to Winter Springs to the Morse Museum Tiffany glass collection and the Polasek home and museum. The night was spent at Wekiwa Springs State Park. The drivers meeting the next morning sent everyone off to Ocala, horse capitol of Florida. A two-Percheron wagon trip of local horse farms was a highlight. Then it was off to the New England Shire Center to see the beautiful gentle giants of the horse world. The final day included a trip to the Butterfly garden at the Florida State Museum on the Gainesville campus of the University of Florida. The afternoon was spent at the Kanapaha Gardens.

The tour of Plimoth Plantation had characters in costume sharing what life was like for the early settlers. There was plenty of time to see the local sites in the area, including trips to Nantucket or Martha's Vinyard Islands, if desired. Each day ended with a social time with the famous Beaver comaraderie. Check out the fun. |

Mystery Rolling Rally II |
Central Florida to Moultrie, Georgia |
| Rally Masters: Pete and Connie Bradish |
February 27 to March 7, 2009 |
Pete and Connie Bradish are known for their exciting rallies - and this was no exception. Surprises abounded, including one for the rally masters themselves, when one RV park failed to live up to their commitment. But that didn't spoil the fun. A driver's meeting was the first introduction to each of the places and events planned, and there were many. There was something for everybody. Food ranged from fine dining to Frosty Mug. A trolley tour of Mt. Dora, hikes of Stephen Foster State Park and Forest Capital State Museum and a picnic on the lawn of a plantation were all included. And in between, time for the famous Beaver
camaraderie
, with socials, games, museums and shopping as the group was guided to the "Music and Memories" Lead-in Rally at Moultrie.

Beavers of the Night Sky '09 |
Chiefland Astronomy Village, Florida |
| Rally Masters: Tom and Lynn Crowley |
February 17 - 20, 2009 |
A social welcomed Beavers to one of the best night viewing sites in the east.Tom's informative power point presentations gave everyone an introduction to the universe - explaining the origins of stars, planets, nebulae, solar flares and other objects viewers might see as they look through the 24" telescope at the Great Nebula in Orion and the planet Venus, or the scopes set up to view the sun. But in addition to the astronomy was the gastronomy. The Crowleys opened their home for some great dinners, breakfasts, socials and potlucks. A lunch at Cedar Cove Restaurant, right on the gulf, was also a treat. Click here to sample the fun. |
Royal Lipizzan Horse Rally |
Herrmann's Ranch, Myakka City, Florida |
| Rally Masters: Carol Luetjen & Bill Mitts |
February 12 - 15, 2009 |
We camped under the huge oak trees in a circle around the campfire ring on Herrmann's Ranch - descendants of the original trainers of these unique horses in Austria. Thirty coaches gathered to watch the Royal Lipizzan Stallions go through their paces. It was an elegant, rarified Baroque art form to remember always. The barn was open always and we fed the horses carrots. Solomon's Castle was a real treat - unique sculptures made of "junque." A bratwurst dinner, barbecue, potluck, nightly campfires with with s'mores and just hanging out with our Beaver friends made for an enjoyable weekend.
